General Description
The STL6100/6200 series is the pre-drive type DC brushless fan controller, featuring a compact 16-pin SSOP package, featuring to support Hall sensor/Hall IC Input. The device supports analog voltage control via an internal A/D converter. Meanwhile, The device provides direct PWM outputs at frequency at 25kHz to support either a single-phase full-wave driving, or of a 2-phase half-wave driving of a motor coil.
The STL6120 series further supports enhanced functions, including

current limiting, adjustable setting for lowest RPM, built-in ADC for external temperature control, and internal voltage reference output.
The devices support automatic lock detection and cease the output current. Once the external stop force is relaxed, the devices automatic recover to the previous speed. Various Open-drained output types of RD, FG and 1/2FG are implemented as the tachometer for system to monitor the speed of a DC fan motor fan speed with magnetic coil of 4 or 8 poles. Moreover, the device features a selectable duty cycle of PWM output for soft-starting to meet various system requirements.
