Nuvoton agent for their speech identification solution.

The ISD91xxx series is a system-on-chip product embedded with ARM® CortexTM-M0 32-bit microcontroller core optimized for low power, recording, and playbacks.

In terms of audio functions, the ISD9xxx series includes a 80dB SNR performance Sigma-Delta ADC and a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with up to 56dB gain that directly connects to the microphone. The audio output is provided through a discontinuous pulse width modulation Class D amplifier (DPWM) that can output 1W of power to an 8Ω speaker.

The ISD9160VI can recognize a few short voice commands, such as "lights on," "lights off," "exit," and "play." Once the command (keyword) is recognized, the device can play the pre-stored audio in the flash memory of the wafer.

 Key functions

  • Speaker individual recognition (SIR)
  • Suitable for local recognition applications; with superior accuracy in recognizing short commands.
  • Currently supports multiple languages and individual difference modification.

The ISD9160 also offers speaker-independent speech recognition (SD) and can be trained to listen to commands. When training is conducted, the commands will be recorded through the built-in microphone and stored directly within the ISD9160. The key words only work when said by the user who recorded the commands. This feature can be applied in the majority of applications and provides appropriate security for systems that can be personalized.
