Post QC 2.0,
Sentelic launched the F75282 IC in compliance with the latest Qualcomm QC 3.0. Aside from supporting Qualcomm's QC 3.0, it also supports Apple, Samsung & BC 1.2. Furthermore, it is fully compatible with F72599 of QC 2.0, allowing customers to seamlessly upgrade to the latest QC 3.0, integrating OVT & discharge functions, and fulfilling the requirements of DoE6. It is the optimal choice for your product design!
The detailed features of QC 3.0 are described below:
As Qualcomm held the 3G/LTE Summit in Hong Kong (2015 Qualcomm 3G/LTE Summit), the company announced the upcoming launch of the third generation quick charge technology - Quick Charge 3.0. With the new technology, phones only need 35 mins to charge from 0% to 80%, while conventional mobile devices without Quick Charge technology may require over 1.5 hours of charging time.
Qualcomm pointed out that Quick Charge 3.0 is the third-generation technology in the fast charging technology series, and it is also the first among all to adopt the "Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage" (INOV) algorithm. It aims to allow portable devices to determine the most suitable charging power level to maximize energy conversion efficiency.
QC 3.0 has a 38% higher charging efficiency than QC 2.0 and an additional mechanism to protect the battery lifespan. If used in conjunction with Qualcomm's parallel charging module, Quick Charge 3.0 can offer:
- Up to 27% faster charging speed than QC2.0 or reduce up to 45% power loss.
- Almost double the charging speed of QC1.0.
QC2.0 provides four charging voltages (5V, 9V, 12V, 20V), while QC3.0 provides a flexible selection of 0.6V to 20V, with 200mV as each unit of increase. This minimizes power loss, increases charging efficiency, and improves thermal performance.
QC3.0 is forwards and backwards compatible. It is compatible with previous Quick Charge versions and a variety of other ports such as USB Type-C. It also supports ultra-fast charging, has independent circuits, and is UL certified, ensuring quality and safety standards.
