In the past, 3C devices heavily relied on their exclusively compatible charging/power supply accessories, making their mobility a major inconvenience and causing environmental issues when they were disposed of. After the EU established regulations making the microUSB the only standard charging device for mobile phones, the USB-IF association has been actively promoting charging/power supply regulations covering Power Deliver (PD) on USBs. This has allowed current digital devices such as pads, mobile phones, monitors, PCs and other peripherals to conduct simultaneous charging and data transfer through a single Type C USB cable.
In response to the PD agreement, Fintek has launched the F751952 design, which supports DFP/ UFP mode and F75191 e-Marker IC . It offers a user-friendly and easy-to-use operating interface as well as a comprehensive production and testing environment. In addition, it has obtained USB-IF certification.
The features of F75192 are as follows:
USB Type-C Specification Compliant:
- Assign CC and VCONN Pins.
- Support Connection Detection on CC Pin.
- Detect USB Cable Plug Attach.
- Cable Orientation and Role Detection.
- Pull-up/down Resistor ( Rp / Rd ) Integrated.
USB Power Delivery (PD) Controller:
- Support FUN pin to select DFP Mode or UFP Mode.
- Support H_VDD pin to sense VBUS voltage.
- Support CTRL1/2 pins to change the request voltage (UFP mode).
- Support Full PD Profile 0~5(5V/12V/20V) and Apple Type-C Profile (14.5V).
- LED pin can light external LED Indicator to show DFP Mode or UFP Mode.
Port Power Switch:
- Support VCONN power switch control.
- EN_VBUS pin could enable the USB Power Switches for VBUS voltage (DFP mode).
- EN_SINK pin could enable the switches for request VBUS voltage (UFP mode).
- Discharge VBUS Voltage could be performed by DIS_CHARGE Pin.
